Back from the dead.

Post by Morzedec »

Hello, anyone remember me? My first post for two years (almost exactly), following a rather large 'OFF' in France during 2022 when a hungover drunk collected me before breakfastime. Now slowly learning to ride again, although with one hand and two legs that do not work very well - no probs, I'll get there somehow.
Don't blame French drivers - I've been cycling over there since 1974, and done hundreds of thousands of kilometres in that time - most are quite obliging to touring cyclists, and yes - I'll be going back again this summer, either riding or pushing a bike!
Pity about my old Holdsworth - 44 years old when it died in many little pieces, so a new experience awaits for my Raleigh Clubman - I only used that for End to End's in the past rather than for long-distance touring, and it doesn't speak French! Bonjour, Raleigh, Ca va Bien?
So then, all you Francophiles, if you see a knackered heap by the Brittany roadside in August please stop, it will probably be me trying to get my breath back - administering red wine might help, or at least kind words of support! Free camping in the garden of my Deux Sevres house if you do stop, but please bring a bottle!

Happy days....

Absolutely correct - it was an Ultima, but sadly no more. Just how many pieces can a bike disintegrate into? I dunno, I was in the blue light wagon, bleeding over everything. All better now - almost!
Another pic for you.

Happy days!
