More by accident than design I came across CUK's guide to saddles for women, you can find it at https://www.cyclinguk.org/article/guide ... fort-women, looks like a fair bit of thought and detail has gone in to it.

It is recommended not to ride for too long. Of course, it is also necessary to find a comfortable seat.

Try lots of different saddles. Use a saddle library from a good cycle shop.
Post menopause, you may find it helpful to use a liberal application of Estriol cream.
This prevents painful drying out of sensitive areas.
I am a 57 year old female cyclist. I use an upright riding position and padded shorts.
Keep everything clean using a soap free wash.
Book an appointment with your women’s health practitioner at your doctor’s surgery to be checked out.
She can give you useful, female specific advice. Good luck. I hope this helps you.

Trek smp saddles may be worth a look. If it helps they are wider than typical saddles and have an extensive curout. The also have a recessed section at the rear of the saddle to minimise impact on the coccyx.

This is advice from a male who has found such saddles full acceptable for 300km rides.

Sorry, that should have been Selle SMP trk saddles.

Recommended as they have a particularly wide cut out in the region where you are having problems.

I always feel cutouts dont really solve the problem, even if they provide relief, as the problem is your still scootching yourself forward to much and resting your body weight on the sensitive bits, all the cutout does is support a poor seating position on the bike.
