the Villiers single freewheel sprocket looks normal, similar to a Sunbeam, pre First World War or 20s, 20 teeth, 1/8 x 1/2 inch. the thread to fit the hub appears 24tpi (normal) but the inside diameter is appreciably larger than the standard of 1.375 inch. Any ideas?

I haven't used a single speed freewheel for some time - but it strikes me that Italian BB threads are 24 tpi x 36mm - is that a possibility?

36mm = 1.417in, the freewheel is considerably larger. Best idea so far is it's for an autocycle/small motorcycle.
