Well, that's as good a first stage as I can remember seeing, Chapeau! to the yellow and white jerseys! 🎩
Often seen riding a bike around Dundee...

Wow and the prediction is that stage 2 will be even more exciting. Hang on to your hats, we're in for a wild ride. And don't mention the T20 cricket final. What a catch in the final over.
I'm off for a lie down, too much excitement for today. :D

This sums it up. How Frank Van Den Broek carried Romain Bardet to glory.

Yes, catch up is available on ITV4, currently both the full race and the highlights. Don't know how long they'll be there. The highlights weren't available straight afterwards yesterday but seem to be now.

Stage 1 was so cool.
Shouting at the telly for the breakaway to hold on.
Despite everything, cycle racing can be compelling viewing. Roll on the next 3 weeks.

Crazy finish today.
How there aren't more crashes on sprint days I don't know.
Gives me a twitchy bum every time I watch one.

Very brave indeed to go for that gap, but he got his reward.

Luckily, philipson was out of the picture, so it was at least 50% safer than normal.
But I agree. Watching cycle racing is a deal with the devil. We've all hit the deck (at much lower speeds) and know how unpleasant it is, so it's particularly traumatic watching them dice with danger.
Looking forward to tomorrow.

Getting near the end today one of the commentators said - "they have eased off at the moment".
The onscreen speed meter was showing 51 kph. (30mph)
This was on the flat with about 20k to go.
