years ago i was given a pair of once worn carratti shorts by a friend who reckoned they were too small. never really used them as i tyought the
padding was rather thin and he said they were inexpensive (although made in italy). i think they are hardly top of the range, what looked like a chamois pad was in fact just a thin coating of chammy appearance which is comming away to reveal a cotton woven pad.
funny thing is i tried them on tour as i couldn't find another pair and found them to be the nicest shorts i've worn. i also bought a pair of edinburgh cycles baggies with a liner, very thick pad but they are really uncomfortable to wear.
so it's not the thickness of the pad; carratti don't seem to be available now but can anyone recommend anything very comfy/
best shorts aren't the thickest paddding

I like their 'sizing chart' .... 5'11 to 5'12" .... large

Re: best shorts aren't the thickest paddding
I have two pairs of the EBC liners and whilst they aren't as comfy as my "ultimate" liner - ten year old endura ?MT500? lycra shorts (which are so indecent and full of holes they have to be worn under baggies) - they are about 1/5th of the price....jawaka wrote: i also bought a pair of edinburgh cycles baggies with a liner, very thick pad but they are really uncomfortable to wear.
