I'm aware Dawes went semi compact shortly after this period.but prior to that the 631 Galaxy was traditional geometry.
Do any of you more knowledgeable people have a chart for frames around this epoch?
Many thanks in advance.

Re: Circa 2010 Dawes Galaxy Geometry
Here's a link to the 2009 catalogue on the Yumpu site, the touring section is towards the rear with the Galaxy etc (Reynolds 631, sloping top tube and welded frame for the Galaxy), with a separate geometry table of all the models on the last couple of pages, any good to you.

Edit :-
I see from the above chart the frame sizes available for the Galaxy were 51/54/57/60
There's an article on the road.cc site about the 2011 line up which lists the new (for that year) semi-compact sizes as 43/48/53/58.

Edit 2 :- There's a test here again on the road.cc site of the 2012 Super Galaxy listing same the frame sizes as 2011, so presumably the same new geometry, there is no geometry table but states 71 degrees head angle - 73 degree seat tube for the 53cm frame in the body of the text. Hope this helps.

Edit 3 :- I had a look at some later catalogues 2013 etc (available on-line) but there are no geometry tables within them, just model photographs and descriptions, I also note that they only list 3 sizes from then on 48/53/58, so no 43mm.

Excellent thanks. A few things strike me, the bewildering array of bikes offered by Dawes back then. A titanium Galaxy! Never knew they were a thing, and no geometry charts
Re: Circa 2010 Dawes Galaxy Geometry
You're welcome. I've found some geometry figures for the later Galaxies (2018) on the Geometry Geeks site, it states they were supplied by the manufacturer.ultraburner wrote: ↑8 Aug 2024, 12:18pm Excellent thanks. For a couple of years, yes. About 2009/10, maybe into 2011. They're very very difficult to find now! Not sure how many they sold.ultraburner wrote: ↑8 Aug 2024, 12:18pm Excellent thanks. Dawes even did an aluminium Galaxy in the late 1990's before returning quite quickly to steel. While it was a brave experiment, back then there was still the whole thing about "steel can be repaired by any blacksmith" so aluminium, for a touring bike, was regarded with much suspicion.
