"DYISLAND LD4X-300 4 Piston E-Bike Hydraulic Disc Brake"
On those it says they have increased the thickness of the rotor to 2.3mm (when an ordinary rotor is 1.8mm thick).
They have also made the pad surface area larger at 34.7 x 20mm as opposed to 26 x 15mm. Not only that but the pads are 3mm thick as opposed to the usual 1.9mm thick.
Does that mean I'd be stuck having to use those rotors, or can 1.8mm thick rotors still be used?
Since hydraulic brake calipers have no adjustment for the pads, I can't see why they wouldn't work in that respect, but there's a more worrying issue - the pads are 20mm high when normal rotors take pads that are 15mm high, so doesn't that mean a normal rotor will end up eating a groove into the bigger pads over time? That can't be safe, it could end up with the rotor jamming?
It seems like a sneaky way of forcing you to use their rotors.

Oh and the front brake is on the left lever, rear on the right lever.

Why not just use the supplied rotors?
Because I don't think my rear brake mount can accommodate a 180mm rotor, it's quite an old carbon frame and I am sure I have been through all that in the past, it's 160mm or nothing, back there. Also, why take off rotors that are nowhere near worn.
