Riser drop bar options

Post by ajoten »

Can anyone comment on the differences between Controltech Road Riser and Genetic Driser handlebars. The spec seems practically identical (perhaps a flare on one?).

And are there any alternatives at that price point? I've found a couple @ £140 but that's pushing it!

(Actually there is a carbon Chinese thing but it looks like the tops bend forward increasing reach/decreasing benefit).

the only thing I know about this is that the controltech handlebar is made in different versions with and without flare.

As an alternative, Specialized do an aluminium version of the 'Hover Bar' for £50-55. 15mm rise and about 12 deg flare, I've just bought one for my gravel bike but am still installing it. Seems OK. I also have Genetic dry riser 4-10 bars on my road bike (10mm rise, slight flare). These have a flattened 'ergonomic' profile which I find quite comfy, and a relatively low 115mm drop which I prefer. Nice bars.
