Blooming ebike conversions !!! Just seen a friends boys conversion. Aluminium grame. Couldn't measure the mismatch in rear dropouts to OLN but must be over 5mm.. clearly took some welly to get the wheel back in after a mechanical.

I said I'm not happy that's safe and the frame/ dropouts may break.

So my probably not easy to answer to question is how many millimeters of mismatch before one should get worried?

I expect you'll get posts saying don't bend an alloy frame. True enough but You have bent it temporarily so it may work. Can you reduce the lock nuts instead?

From what I saw....not obvious you can reduce OLN without crushing the power cable.

Not my bike....trying to work out what tolerance an alu frame might have before one should be worried about real potential for frame failure.......then I say a bit more to them.....and then it's for them.
