I always try to avoid wasting my time replying to 'fire and forget' thread starters or malicious users - spammers etc. I depend on a few 'red flags' to decide who to be wary of; the most reliable of which being a user having only 1 post. However, I've noticed another pattern emerging: users who have a post count of, say, 7 but only have one post showing in their history often seem to be fire-and-forget merchants.
What is the most likely reason a user will have less posts showing than their post count? Is it most likely to be a 'no blame' explanation, eg they've participated in threads that have subsequently been deleted, or is it more likely that they've been making posts which have been deleted for having breached a forum rule? If you'd need to see an example to figure this out, I've got one recent one in mind, but may be able to find more
Thanks.
Question for @admin : why do users have a larger post count than actual posts?

Ah right - wasn't aware of that. Ta.gaz wrote: 27 Sep 2024, 7:51pm The most common innocent explanation is that posts made on the For Sale/Wanted boards, Test board and People Events and Rides board are auto deleted.
