Anybody got any recommendations for waterproof trousers for a 5ft female?

I wouldn't bother unless you are a very sedate cyclist. The sweat and subsequent condensation you generate will soon soak under trousers.

I'd recommend wearing wicking and fast drying trousers, dare I say it, such as lycra!

I use Rainlegs - they keep you warm and dry without getting too sweaty. If it is really wet and I’m out for several hours I’ll add overshoes, but these days it’s rarely necessary.

It tends to be down to context. For, say, a commute ride of 15 minutes on a day with heavy rain a pair of overtrousers can make the difference between having to change at work or spending rather longer then the commute was having your trousers dry out.

I usually deploy overtrousers on a bike a handful of times per year, but I'm glad of them on those occasions. And the same ones work when doing other outdoorsy stuff (where again I largely prefer quick-dry non-waterproof options, but sometimes waterproof really is worth having).

I'm 5' 1.5" and use Decathlon waterproof trousers, cheap at £15 and fine for commuting. A whole day touring in the rain means some damp does get through, but I think you'd need some super-expensive kit to stop that!

The time it took for any answers to appear, and the general tenor of the replies, suggest that the question could probably be broadened to 'Does anyone know of any effective cycling waterproof trousers for anyone, man or woman, of any size?'. Then check the size range for anything recommended.

For "is there anything at all?", depends on what values of "cycling".

Roadies pretty much never bother, tourers may or may not according to if it's warm enough overall that they're not going to get too cold, commuters often do, etc.

Size range is where one is typically at disadvantage being a woman because outdoor gear is not equitably available in women's sizes (and for better overtrousers, fitted shapes), so it's more likely something relatively niche is being looked for.

Even with the discount they are not cheap, but Showers Pass products are generally reckoned to be very good. There looks to be quite a bit of feedback on the sizing in the reviews, which might help the OP.
