Pro Track Cycling Muzak?

Post by bungle73 »

Maybe I'm out of the loop, as the previous time I attended track cycling at a velodrome it was at the London Paralympics, but is it the trendy thing now that they have to blast you with annoying music for the whole session? Went to the London 3 Day thing a few weekends ago, again at the Stratford velodrome, and for the whole 5 hour session they insisted on playing this very annoying and very loud music. So loud at times it completely drowned out the commentator. Seems like they got complaints as later in the session they turned it down a bit. Completely put me off attending a track meeting again.

I've never been to the Ghent Six Days but everything I've read about it mentions the music in the velodrome. And the beer. And the food. And the smoking till recently (or maybe still, it is Belgium?).

It's the rich what gets the pleasure
Isn't it a blooming shame?
