Didn't CyclingUK pull out of their holiday business because they couldn't support people flying.
Now they have teamed up with Skedaddle who have a number of tours that require you to fly.
An about face or pragmatism.

Pedal powered flying is the next big cycle trend, the CTC is leading the way.

Perhaps they realised that if you want to tour the USA or Asia, getting there without flying is either pretty much impossible. People want to go to these places with their bikes and going to the USA on the Queen Mary with your bike is fairly pricey I reckon!
Realistically, even the south of Spain is off the radar without flying unless you really want to spend 2 days on a bus.

Politicians are wonderful people as long as they stay away from things they don't understand, such as working for a living.

There is your way. There is my way. But there is no "the way".

Have the train lines shut, then? Much quicker than a bus and easier to take a bike on, but more changes.mr riff raff wrote: 21 Jan 2025, 7:35pm Realistically, even the south of Spain is off the radar without flying unless you really want to spend 2 days on a bus.
Linking up with Skedaddle seems a bad move and not just because of the flying. I don't like the look of their terms which allow them to change tours in progress unilaterally, without consultation, and keep your money.

That's a standard clause.mjr wrote: 22 Jan 2025, 9:30am Linking up with Skedaddle seems a bad move and not just because of the flying. I don't like the look of their terms which allow them to change tours in progress unilaterally, without consultation, and keep your money.
Allows the company to deal with most issues that might arise - war, natural disaster, weather, impassable route due to (eg) landslides but also more pragmatic matters like sickness within the tour group.
I've seen it used it a couple of times when I've been ride-leading (not for Skedaddle I should add).
