BBC News: "US President Donald Trump is directing that the Department of Defense be known as the Department of War."

And more amusingly from same piece:

"Earlier on Thursday, Trump downplayed suggestions about seeking the Nobel Peace Prize.

"All I can do is put out wars," he told CBS News, the BBC's US partner. "I don't seek attention. I just want to save lives.""
Is Peter Sellers still available?

Compare and contrast

Vs

Is it me or is Vance incredibly stupid and believes the rest of the world is, too?
The death of Kirk isn't and shouldn't be anything to celebrate. However he did use America's first amendment in an attempt to seek to roll back a number of rights for certain groups of people, he did it under the guise of god (whoever he or she is) and did in a country where the right to bare arms was the second right and military grade weaponry was easily available...
....apparently the issue isn't the lack of gun laws, or the fact that, through the rhetoric of the right wing, certain sections of the population feel, under threat, unappreciated and devalued, but rather the extreme left...
The guy's a moron.. 'if someone celebrates the death of Kirk, tell their employer'... what? Why what the hell is the employer going to about it? And how does that work with the first amendment?

It's about power, not about Kirk.

Kirk's appalling assassination gives them an opportunity to exercise power over those who oppose their fascist ideology.

They are taking it, gleefully.

More will follow.

He's not a moron, he's clever, cunning and ruthless. In pursuit of absolute power.

Yep, they’ve got their martyr now, are exploiting that to the hilt already, and will exploit it further as time goes by.

The cant and hypocrisy on display from Team Trump over this are breath-taking, but that is sort-of half the point, and their gullible supporters in the USA, and quite staggeringly here also, are lapping it up.

To grab a bit of bible language, as they are so fond of doing: they are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.

BBC News: """Trump can be quite funny in private," said one diplomat. "He has got quite a neat turn of phrase that the King will appreciate.""

So that's alright then.......

Given the AI and nuclear deals to be struck during the State Visit the next 2 days will mark the end of any pretence that the UK is anything other than a USA lackey.

The 5,000 anti-racist protesters from Saturday will surely be declared terrorists, so much easier than to treat Robinson's 100,000+ that way. Left equals terror, right equals patriot.

I was going to go and protest, but there's nothing, nada, zero happening outside Windsor Castle or Chequers - even his carriage ride is within the environs of Windsor. :(

Yes. Wonder what max sentence for "malicious communications" is? Let's hope not "extradited".

Can the projection of something that's simply an image whose veracity isn't contested by any party be held to be an offence I wondered. AI came to the rescue:

This covers the projection of images if they are indecent, grossly offensive, or threatening and are sent or projected with the intent to cause distress or anxiety to an intended recipient or audience.

So I guess it might be held to be an attempt to make Trump anxious. Wonder why he'd be anxious...

Wider than Trump I think. A threat to national security by way of upsetting him and thus causing distress to senior politicians and indeed all "right-thinking" citizens.

The "special relationship" is rapidly moving to a new level, economic colonialism, if not yet militarily enforced. That will come - I seriously expect USA "boots" on our ground within 2 years.

Meanwhile, Trump's "genoseaside" plan for Gaza takes shape:

From Jerusalem Post (Smotrich is Finance Minister).

"Smotrich: Gaza real estate 'bonanza' could finance war, rehab northern towns
“There’s a real estate bonanza there. This is how it pays for itself. I’ve started negotiations with the Americans. I’m not joking. I had a serious conversation with them," Smotrich said."

Follow the money.......
