Hrugia rim brakes Giant Peleton 7400

Post by Rivned »

Hi - am having problems re-building and fitting Hrugia rim brakes on an older bike - Giant Peleton 7400 road bike. The sequence of putting the mechanism back together and mounting on the frame seems to need more than two hands. Any advice or suggestions welcomed. Thanks

IIRC your bike should be equipped with shimano RSX 100 DP calipers, about which there is nothing particularly unusual or difficult.

Photos would help. Dual pivot calipers are very straightforward to fit to a bike so I can only imagine that you're having difficulty re-assembling the calipers after dismantling them completely, is this correct? Are you having trouble getting the springs into place, or something?

Thanks for responding - through trying different assembly sequences I have managed to work out the assembly of the calipers. A small grub screw which was preventing the location of parts needed to be released to all the calipers to fit together and then when tightened up pretensioned the spring mechanism. I have the sequence should anyone else need a some help with these brake calipers. Cheers
