Does anyone know anything about BKL? Particularly of their e-cargo trikes? Can you get them serviced in London? UK? There are some nice-looking BKL trikes (ex of Urb-it) knocking around, but I am wary of buying something I have never heard of, that I can’t get serviced and will have zero resale value. I’m a gardener, so don’t need the heavy-duty cargo trike, but need something I can rely upon.
I am also considering the Radkutsche Musketier (also ex of Urb-it), but this is maybe larger than I require.
Any insights greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.
BKL e-cargo trikes – Are they any good? Can you get them serviced anywhere?

You might consider conversion of a non-electric cargo bike/trike. It will probably come out quite a bit cheaper, and you will have a good idea of what is going on, and as long as you get a fairly generic conversion the assurance that all the parts are easily serviced and replaceable (***) if necessary. Conversion can sound daunting, but it very straightforward if you are used to standard bike maintenance.
I don't know about those two models, but for any 'specialty' bike (tandem, cargo, trike etc) you tend to pay a very high premium for the proprietary electric version, as well as the uncertainty you raised about future parts/servicing.
Probably also worth asking at https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/forums ... cussion.2/
(They also have a sub-forum that explicitly mentions eCargo.
https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/forums ... ussion.59/
I think most of their viewers will automatically see both..)
There may be viewers who know the models you mention, but certainly lots of very sound advice if you do choose the conversion route.
(***) p.s. and replacement parts, especially batteries, will not be too expensive.
