If I fit a bafange rear hub, what set up will give me a a possible 50 miles on eco power and moderate hills. Also, I have a front triple with 8 rear so can I use the triple or do I need to stick to the middle ring.
Advice will be appreciated as no need to over spec .
Bafang rear hub conversion
Re: Bafang rear hub conversion
It depends how much power ECO setting uses. I'd say 575Wh minimum battery. And you can keep the triple.
Re: Bafang rear hub conversion
That's a bit of a 'how long is a bit of string' question. Variables such as bike weight/type, rider fitness/ weight and so on, all have a bearing and as previously mentioned, how much power is the ECO mode delivering (not a standard amount as this will depend on the system controller settings).roberts8 wrote: 10 May 2025, 3:21pm If I fit a bafange rear hub, what set up will give me a a possible 50 miles on eco power and moderate hills.
I'm a heavy rider (92Kg) and use ECO on my 20Kg shopper (TSDZ2) and ECO on my 13Kg road bike (front hub) and with a 300Wh battery get around 45 miles on the first bike and 55 miles on the second one.
Horses for courses!
Without my stoker, every trip would only be half a journey

Look at https://www.bosch-ebike.com/en/service/range-assistantbikes4two wrote: 15 Jun 2025, 10:42pm That's a bit of a 'how long is a bit of string' question. That is for Bosch powered bike, but ...
It gives a pretty reasonable idea of range for any bike with a little interpretation (motor type, assist settings).
It gives a very good idea of how the different parameters bikes4two mentions affect range.
