Women’s Tour de France

Post by TrevA »

Anyone watching? (It’s only available on TNT so probably not).

Nothing much happened yet as it’s just been sprint stages. Mountains to come later in the week.

Yes, as it's on Eurosport 1 too.

Possibly significant crash today, but time will tell.

Opened well, then a bit of a lull in interest but starting to get more interesting again today.

The sprint stages after the opener were a bit dull, partly I find sprint stages a bit dull for the most part but also there seems to have been quite a glut of withdrawals and people not firing on all cylinders meaning there's only two people really on form, which is a shame. Good work from the breaks on each one though.

Big hills tomorrow, will be interesting to see how the withdrawals and prangs shake that up...

Very interesting stage today, with the finish up the Col de la Madeleine, which is a brute of a climb.

I'd expected PFP to be in yellow as I couldn't see Kim Le Court holding out on the last climb... but I hadn't expected the differences we ended up with to the other GC riders.

Once she dropped Gigante she just rode faster than everyone else and there wasn't anything anybody could do, with the join to Brunel making it an even bigger result.

Impressive stuff! We'll see if she overcooked herself later today, but I suspect not.
