BikeINN ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE

Post by AnnaStravard »

I bought some ARUNDEL Stainless Steel bottle cages from BikeINN recently as they were the cheapest price. However when I got them none of my bottles fit in them they are a strange size. Anyway I thought I’ll return them but BikeINN’s return feature wouldn’t work on their website. Then I tried to contact them and got some useless chat. All roads lead to them doing everything possible to avoid a return, Anyway tomorrow I’m going to contact my credit card company as it’s a scam.

So it’s 0/5 for Arundel and BikeINN

Just a thought but I have a couple of these cages, although not from bike inn, and I seem to remember having to bend them to fit the size of bottle I use. After that they were fine. That was a couple of years ago so yours could be completely different of course.

Just for balance: I've ordered parts, accessories and clothing from BikeINN several times over the years - most recently last month - and everything has always turned up correctly and I've been happy with it. They seem to have sussed out the VAT and import duty arrangements for the UK, their prices are very good on some brands, especially EU-based ones, and the MASSI gloves in particular are excellent. I don't know what their returns process is like because I've never had to return anything.

Where they fall down for me is on their estimated delivery dates, which are always very -er - optimistic. Typical example: As the online tracking helpfully informed me, my last order wasn't even picked in the warehouse until the day after it was supposed to arrive on my doorstep. It then spent a week and a half hanging around in warehouses, first in Madrid then Amsterdam, before eventually reaching the UK. So I'd say don't order from them if you need it in a hurry.

They also tell lies.

They advertise stuff as in-stock when it isn’t, take your money to pay for an order for something they don’t have and have no chance of getting, then take weeks/months to admit that they don’t have the item and to return the money.

Given that they must accrue interest, or offset borrowing costs, by doing this, IMO it amounts to obtaining money by deception.

It's not a scam, unless you bought them from some fake copy website.
BikeInn have always been fine for me.
Last time I did a return the return address was in the UK so they obviously have a UK returns centre of some sort.

Plenty of places do that.
Although usually they get it in about a week or so.

I concur with this. I'm finding them an appalling company to deal with, I was lured in when I bought a Bryton cycling computer from them. No problems with that but then before Christmas I bought a front light and a mount adaptor from them. Turns out I couldn't use the light or adaptor - long story but I've ended up buying a Moon light and mount. So I returned the Magicshine light and adaptor to them and didn't hear anything for well over a month. Luckily I'd paid with Klarna. They finally in the last week or so acknowledged receipt of my return and have only refunded me £9.25 - I was expecting the full Klarna instalment they took from my credit card of £27.00.

I'm at my wits end trying to get anywhere with their appalling (lack of) customer service and I've basically written the money off. It's just impossible to get any sort of answer that isn't AI from them! I will be deleting my account and never purchasing from them again. It's just not worth the hassle when there's so many excellent online shops in the UK - Bikeparts have been a dream to deal with recently for example.
