Prototype engineer / custom builder

I am looking for a competent custom builder in the Berkshire area to help produce a prototype of a novel folding bike design (yes, another one).
I am willing to pay for all materials - and time - but I need advice on appropriate materials and already available components.
I would stress the key design principles are around re-use of existing commercial components with commercial protection through copyright, trade marks and branding. History shows technical patents do not lead to commercial success.
