...you could throw in some other ones like;
Best travel log (any medium)
Best photograph
Highest amount of litter collected by bicycle
Highest number of library books delivered by bike
All of those are good, fun ideas. I especially like the one for delivering books. But awards for doing things are likely to go to those already doing things. It might encourage them to more of what they're already doing but it's unlikely to get new people on bikes, which is the idea of the "100 women in cycling" awards.
And so on ... it doesn’t all have to be about the metrics... indeed by not making it about the metrics we could attract more people to cycling
Not sure what you mean by metrics here? Cos you can't give any of those awards in your ideas without measuring things, be it miles ridden or litter picked.
