Correct. The Endura bib tights that I’ve have had for 4 years were made in China.

Endura have just moved their base to England. They are still going.

theyre still going, as part of the Pentland brand, but I know they not only closed their factory in Scotland, but they auctioned off their clothing making equipment too, because actually Lusso bought some of it from them.

so if you want stuff made in the UK, on Enduras old machines, buy from Lusso.

Maybe if the shorts are only good for 60 - 90 minutes the problem is the saddle or bike fit, not the shorts?

"if the shorts are only good for 60 - 90 minutes " Some shorts are make for longer rides than others, Altura used to state one model the padding (foam + gell) was good for all day, and another for up to 2 (or 4?) hours (padding more a towelly liner). I have just checked, and they no longer state this distinction, they may have altered the padding in the cheaper model(?).

It might of course be the saddle as well!

Nobody so far has mentioned Corrine Dennis.

It is a while since I bought anything from there, but the quality was good.

They do various thicknesses of padding.

I had a pair of Altura shorts that had gel padding, but the gel became dislodged, meaning they were no longer usable - returned to retailer for a refund. I also had a pair of quite expensive Endura Pro FS260 shorts where the same thing happened. Unfortunately, I couldn’t remember where I bought them from so they just got binned. I think companies have short using gel inserts in shorts now and just use foam.

Sportpursuit have their own brand,Rivelo.I have three pairs of their bib shorts and they've been excellent. The material has also been thicker and more compressive than the other makes i have.
Don't buy the Rivelo shorts and bibs that are listed on ebay, purchase on the Sportpursuit website.

Yes, I think they changed their design, after having problems. My latest Endura shorts have a foam pad.

Corrine Dennis for me. Cornish company. Ladies double comfort shorts but she also does blokes shorts. Someone not used to padding may prefer the single comfort ones. Bit old fashioned, very comfy- no foam or gel or grippers on your thighs, not shiny. As I mostly tour I need them to be comfy for long hours in the saddle, https://www.corinnedennis.co.uk/

Of course there is always the unpopular answer.
Get what fits!
Really cheap ones don't last, say Lidl jobs although that's not universal before people start. Really expensive stuff feels nice but is often no nicer than mid range as this is so subjective. Go to a shop and try some on or find a place with an acceptable, to you, returns policy.

Not sure what is being asked for here. Is it recommendations for padded under shorts or for padded shorts?
Either - I've actually got a really cheap pair of under-shorts which I take touring just in case, and have worn as shorts on hot days. The padding's not very effective now.
With that level of experience, what makes you think you need them now?
I only occasionally use padded shorts, for those sorts of rides where I'm going to spend a lot of time in the saddle without a break. Long rides, where I'm taking more frequent breaks, are fine without.
Age! Less resiliant undercarriage. I'm fine without for much of the time but I think I should get some for touring.

Thanks for all your comments, and apologies for not commenting sooner - I'd totally forgotten this post... I'll have a good look at the suggestions. Interesting conversation on Endura, I've had some decent jackets from them so I hope they carry on being as good.

I've used ENDURA for a while and used them everyday for the last four months on my new trainer. I'm just under 5'6" and almost 10 stone so I was surprised when I tried mine on at the shop that the large ones fitted me. They are a bit tight over the shoulders though. The quality is good but mine have two different materials round the leg, one grips the skin and the other slides up and down every time the leg rotates. It's not a feature I like but on the whole they are good, just be careful of the sizing.
