Osmand and iPhone

I've been using Osmand on my Motorola phone for some years now since my pal 'Alyrpal' put me straight on using it to follow saved gpx routes.
However, profound deafness has meant me transferring to an iPhone (for direct to ear communication).

I've downloaded the maps from Osmand but am having some difficulty displaying them, but once I have managed that, I can't get to follow the route.
On android a blue icon comes up to start following the route, but I can't get that to show, to activate the route.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks for taking the trouble to link that.
However, none of those issues are relevant, as I cannot get the route to show.
As I said, on my android phone, once I'd imported the route, there was a blue `start' icon, which when pressed would activate the map as I cycled along, with an indicator showing my position on the map.
With my iPhone the blue icon doesn't show and nothing happens as I start the ride.

However, your link reveals the full instructions for using Osmand, so I'll study that in detail when I get the chance and try and sort the issue.

Sorry, dont have an iPhone.

The ones I have tried I find very frustrating, not logical to use so I have stuck to Android.

Unable to help on this occasion.

I want to thank you again for sorting me out, however many years ago.
Using Osmand has been invaluable for my cycle rides in new territory when out in the motorhome.

I find the iPhone very frustrating too as I thought it was going to be all plain sailing.
I'm now trying to get a cheap pay as you go sim to use my android phone purely for map-reading purposes.

I don’t understand this. I find an iPhone fine. I sometimes encounter Android phones in my voluntary advisory work - they are different and I find them harder to use. You have to be much more careful about privacy and security with them.

You might be sorted now, but in case you're not, this is what I do step by step. Works very smoothly.
1. Download gpx (I use cycle.travel)
2.Long click on Share and choose Osmand
3. Click on Back icon
4.Click on Menu icon and choose My Places
5. Click on Tracks at bottom of screen
6. Choose Displayed Tracks. Your latest downloaded track will appear. Deselect anything you don't want displayed.
7.Click Done
8. Click Back
9. Click Navigate
10. Choose your track from Displayed Tracks
11. Click Start and "oops he was away....blowing his trousers like a bugle" (sorry; Bonzo Dogs reference from my youth)

I have screen shots of the stages but trying to upload them in sequence seems impossible. If they would help, PM me and I will email them to you. It looks complicated but is actually very easy once you're familiar with it.I've been using this for several years without a hitch.
