I’d like to sell my adventure touring bike. It’s a wonderful machine – sturdily built with for a one-off trip to the Himalayas in 2008, and not really used since then. All components are very high-quality – chosen specifically for resilience and reliability in dirty/testing conditions, and for low maintenance and easy off-grid repairs.
THE GOOD STUFF:
• Orange P7 steel hardtail with sliding dropouts for single-speed transmission.
• Seat tube 19”, Top tube 23”, Head tube 6”
• Fox Vanilla 140mm coil-spring fork (Orange rigid fork also included)
• Rohloff 14spd Speedhub (Rohloff oil change in April 2026)
• Hope front hub
• Mavic EX729 rims (32 spokes)
• Schwalbe Marathon XR tyres
• Thorn 40t chainring, and Thorn 16t rear sprocket
• Race Face sealed bottom bracket
• Race Face Evolve XC crankset
• Atomlab platform Pedals (Deore XT pedals with strapless toeclips also included)
• Avid BB7 mechanical disk brakes
• Shimano Deore XTR brake levers
• Chris King headset
• Thorn riser stem (Tioga non-riser stem also included)
• Easton EA30 handlebar (24”)
• Ergon GP1 grips
• Tubus Logo rear rack
• Tubus Swing front rack
• Ortlieb Bike Packer Plus rear bags
• Ortlieb Front Roller Plus front bags
• Ortlieb locking handlebar bag with key
• Brooks B17 saddle
• Bag full of spares included: brake pads, DT Swiss spokes, folding Marathon XR tyre, Topeak Mountain pump, 2x ultralight bottle cages, 1x Topeak XL (holds 1.5l bottles) and many more.
THE NOT QUITE SO GOOD STUFF
• It’s battle-worn! There are a few cosmetic signs of its age on the frame and on the racks.
• The saddle is past its best and has flared a little - will need to be broken-in again.
• The bottle cage allen bolts have seized and might need professional help.
I’m looking for £1,750, but would be pleased to hear feedback if this price seems unreasonable. I’m not in a rush to sell; if no interest here I’ll put it on eBay and gradually reduce the price…
There’s some more information about the bike on this page:
