Ah tc - you're a gud'n.

No Centres of Excellence in Beryl's time - no real sponsorship/coaches/lottery money - between race weekends, she was working full time in the rhubarb fields and being a wife and mother.

Any of today's generation reading her autobiography ("Personal Best") would have their eyes opened.
