I realise it's a tradition thing and no fault of the rider, but doesn't anyone else think that it should be the whole team on the podium rather than just the one rider who crossed the line first?

Given the way that the Italians used to all race for themselves i think that this might have resulted in a punch up a few years back

Ah tc - you're a gud'n.

No Centres of Excellence in Beryl's time - no real sponsorship/coaches/lottery money - between race weekends, she was working full time in the rhubarb fields and being a wife and mother.

Any of today's generation reading her autobiography ("Personal Best") would have their eyes opened.
