Are they servicable.

I have a 4 month old HOPE X-type BB and its already giving me grief.

Where I ride is really sandy at this time of year and the grit seems to have got into the seals of the BB.. it sounds awful and rides even worse.

I have a RACEFACE X-type BB that came with the crank and that doesn't seem to bright either.

Any suggestions for a decent X-type BB.. cheers..

Cheers.. Ended up stripping mine out and then decided it was cheaper to just replace with a better unit.. so I went from a Hope BB X type with cermaic bearings to a Race Face of the same type but with big S/S bearings... on first ride it feels instantly better than my previous 4 month old Hope unit.. will have to see how it bears up to winter..

Well it seems as if the Hope problem was with the seals.. as I have not changed my habits and the problems have not surfaced even though the weather and conditions have got worse..
