just starting out

Post by bilbie »

After a brilliant introduction to cycling in Northern Europe I have decided I would like either a city, trekking or hybrid bike. Where can I go to see a range of such bikes, while getting sound advice re size etc? I live in Berkshire, so London & Oxford are accessible.

There's a brillaint cycle shop in Oxford at the Magdelen Bridge end of the Cowley Road, perhepas its called Oxford cycles. They are certainly to be recomended by experience, they cover all aspect of cycling offering only the most reputable of brands.

Godd luck, Marc

The shop at the Magdalene Bridge end of Cowley Road is B-Line. Very well thought of locally. Other very good shops in Oxford are Walton Street Cycles in Jericho and Warboroughs in the Botley Road. Probably also Bike Zone in Market Street (although catering rather more for the student/shopper market rather than the tourist). Oxford is very well served by bike shops and there are probably some good shops I've left off this list (there are also some dreadful ones that the laws of libel mean that I would probably not want to name on this board)

In Oxford try Beeline Cycles on Cowley Road or Walton Street Cycles (guess where) who sell Dawes touring bikes.
