I'm touring in the Americas in spring 2005, starting in Totonto.

Does anyone have any suggestions for which airline to use that are best at looking after bikes in transit?

I almost always use BA. Not the cheapest, but that is a matter of my chosen routes. Do not imagine that the airline handles your bike. Airlines use handling agent companies to do the baggage handling, loading etc. The same company will be used by many airlines.
