Good Morning from a newbie

A "Good Morning" to anyone lucky, or unfortunate, enough to be on line this morning.

I have just joined.

Although I am a Nelson Wheeler, we ride regularly with the Burnley and Pendle CTC boys and girls and our membership includes CTC cover.

Attended their dinner at The Copy Nook last Sunday and enjoyed a very pleasant afternoon with some good festive fare to consume and good company.

My current hack is my old Alan Dent 531 racing frame that I can get guards in. An old steel Karrimor pannier carrier and an Altura Orkney bar bag hold my bits and pieces. My favourite acquisition is my hub dynamo.

My chainset is an old TA with the 5 pin fixing close to the crank. I am wondering if this pattern of chainrings is still available, as I managed to destroy a 32 inner when two of the fixing screws worked lose after several years in place! Damned gremlins!

i think you mean 58mm pcd?

there's here, sadly they're not cheap, nor in 32 tooth

and this place will machine them up to your spec. but, again, i don't think they'll be cheap

i think i have one in the shed of doom, in 35 - from the bike below that only needed one ring - is it any use to you?

Thanks to you all.

That is indeed the type of crankset that I have. I had a look on the Spa site, but did not see any. Must look again.

I have a 46/36 set up on at the mo, so the 35 does not offer me much for now, but thank you.

As you have been so helpfull, do you have any recommendations for a new chainset that I could set up with my preferred 42/32?
