Bike registration??

I found the site
www.bikeregister.com which seems to be a common sense service for getting your bike returned should it be stollen and subsequently recovered. Does anyone know if there are any alternatives or if these service are used generally??

What about components?
I can see the efficacy of registering your bike and frame, but I have £100s of quids worth of components on my bike. A bike IMHO is only a collection of bits, and can be stripped in the blink of an eye.
