They do quite a lot of this in Washington D.C. as well -- sometimes for special events (e.g. at the Inauguration), but also on a more regular basis: the baseball stadium has bike valet parking for every game (compare and contrast Old Trafford cricket ground, where there isn't even a Sheffield Stand ...)
