I know these have been mentioned before on the forum (that's where I found out about it), in a thread on side stands. I decided to order one for my new Ultra Galaxy rather than attach anything directly to the frame. I do like a bike to be able to stand up whilst I'm rummaging around in the panniers.
I must say that as a product it really is first rate - very stable and beautifully made. Delivery was also fast - a little over a week from placing the order to it landing on the doorstep.
So, it's a public thank you to Tom, who replied to my initial e-mail within minutes - ain't t'internet amazing? and a 'highly recommended' for the product.

Thinking about ordering one of these from the USA.

Did you get charged UK VAT / duty by the post office when it arrived?

No problems at all. I've had lots of stuff from the US - mainly vintage camera gear and I've only been stung for duty once on a Nikon telephoto lens from the 60's. The annoying bit was the 10 quid that I got charged for the parcel being wrapped up again
I'm guessing that the value of the stand is such that it'd be under the value that gets looked at for extra duty anyway.
