In lLeeds we have any number of examples of lamp posts (= 30 mph) bearing a 'national speed limit' (AKA derestricted) sign and a 'SLOW' sign.

They could not micro-manage a party in Tetley's.

In Germany they have lower speeds generally and save all the speeding for the autobahn.

Personally I think many drivers need re-educating. The impatience shown by many is ridiculous.

Drove to work this morning (I did 3 hours of tough mountain biking last night and so was not up for cycling in) and a driver cut across in front of me at the last second as I was just entering the slip road to leave the motorway. So much for getting in the right lane, indicating when you reach the III sign.

I now wish I'd been naughty and put my foot down and blocked him so he had to stay on the motorway :D the section from Stafford to Stoke is quite long and a round trip would have added 30-40 minutes on his trip.
