I now have my boat ticket booked for the Audax in Caton.
Now to find accommodation. I shall be treating this Audax as a holiday, so I am looking for a small hotel, pub or B&B to stay at. Not had much luck with the Googling bit so far. Trying hard not to have a 10 mile ride to the start before the event gets going and I run out of puff. I am cycling directly from home via the ferry, so no back up car.
And, are there any places to buy a meal in or near Caton, better still if the accommodation provides a menu.
Any suggestions?

B&B recommendation for Caton area?
Re: B&B recommendation for Caton area?
The Ship Inn in Caton is a decent pub, which does ok food. Last time I passed it didn't do B&B (I think), but it's recently changed hands, so might be worth checking? A bit further afield: there's a B&B in Claughton, just up the road. The Bay Horse Inn at Forton does B&B and has excellent food too -- a nice ride from Caton, and mostly downhill, but perhaps a bit much the morning before an Audax...
Re: B&B recommendation for Caton area?
The Holiday Inn and Travel Lodge are both by the M6 going towards Caton from Lancaster.
You can get on the cycle way which runs along the old railway at this point. It is under 4 miles and flat.

Lancaster is 5 miles from Caton and is accessable along the cycleway (flat, old railway).
Lancaster itself though can be hilly.

Re: B&B recommendation for Caton area?
I don't know if you know.
But the cycle path goes from Morecambe to Caton. (About 10 miles)
I assume you are getting the ferry to Heysham so the cycleway would be ideal to get to Lancaster etc.

Re: B&B recommendation for Caton area?
Its booked.
Phoned the pubs mentioned, no accommodation sadly, then when on Pals recommendation and followed his link, which took me to a B&B at a farm! Great, just what I wanted - Many thanks Pal. Discovered that I am pronouncing the name Caton incorrectly, its Kateon if you pronounce it correctly and Cat on if you dont!
The farm is just over a mile from the start, so couldnt be better for a tired Manx Cat at the end of the Audax, and opposite the B&B is a very nice pub and eating house just 300 meters away so I have been told.
Thanks for all your recommendations. Will report on accommodation when I get back.
Book boat, B&B booked, booking eating place tomorrow just in case as its a weekend.
Roll on May, May you be bright sunny and cosy.
Yes Cycleruk, I am going to use the Cycle way if I can find it. I intend to carefully pick it out on the map and follow that, much nicer than the road.
