NHS cycle parking
Re: NHS cycle parking
As a person who has contributed to the Boorman report and has commented on the wellness and health of employees, yesterday's interim report did not come as a surprise. However what it does give me as a nurse in an occupational health department, is the ammunition and the opportunity to promote cycling within my hospital trust and hopefully be able to spend some of my working time doing what I enjoy most, getting more bums on saddles!

Re: NHS cycle parking
Sorry for coming to this thread a bit late!
In Leicester, we got off to a really good start about 7-10 years ago, and now our 'Green Travel Co-ordinator' seems to spend all her time dealing with car parking issues, while the trust drags its heels on implementation of the Cycle to Work Scheme.
The once-perfectly-adequate secure cages (which are mostly shared with motorcycles) are now managed by Facilities and are hopelessly oversubscribed (ie too many keys being let out).
Access / Egress to the City centre site is appaling - involving use of of footpaths at any given point.
All in all it's a pretty sad state of affairs for Environment City's major employer!
