If they're on Bromptons it probably means they are ex-motorists who are now using an alternative, because of the congestion charge, etc. Unfortunately they ride a bike the same way they drive a car.

I commute everyday to work and cycle everywhere when not on my way to work. I have found that going out of town in the morning and returning in the eve is the best. Always against the flow of cars and other cyclists.

I had to collect my bike from London Bridge after its service, which was the day of the bombings. The shop had done more trade in one day than it normally does in a week. Since then, I have noticed the decline in the quality of rider on London's roads. Sunday cyclist out everyday. But who can blame them and surely they will get better with practise?!
