Brake caliper lubrication

Just interested in what people use. A long time ago 'three in one' seemed to serve for everything that moved on a bike, now it seems that the variety is endless. What do you use to keep the calipers moving freely?

Nothing.

I'm not being obtuse here, but I strip my bike down every now and again, and clean stuff, but my brake calipers get a clean and a wipe. I take the shoes off and scrub clean the blocks, then re-assemble the whole set, making sure everything works properly. I re-attach the cables, adjust them, and that's it.

Thanks Mick - that's interesting. I had noticed that on my Campag Chorus brakes it says they have ball bearings inside and thought there was a danger of flushing any grease on the bearings out with a thin oil and seeing problems in the longer term
