I've been using some Grand Tours for a month and love 'em. Or loved, as I breaked too hard, went over the bars and now the left hand side has no "flare". I'll be running another bar until I decide whether to replace or not - a bit concerned about the reliability of the bars, since the crash was mostly my-face:pavement, not my-bike:pavement.
Anyone else have an issue with Grand Tours, do you generally replace bars after crashes and would you suggest steel bars instead of alloys?

Nitto Grand Tours - crash
If I had a baby elephant, I would put it on a recumbent trike so that it would become invisible.

I much prefer steel bars- I'm not too worried about weight as I don't race.
The only time that I've replaced bars after a crash is when they've been noticeably damaged, otherwise I'd have gone bankrupt a long time ago.

Nitto bars are about the strongest you can get. Accidental damage is quite a different load from ordinary heavy use. However, steel is indeed stronger, but steel bars are also about twice as heavy.
