As a satisfied user of Argos's 1 man Tiger Paws tent, which cost well under £20 several years ago, I'm now in need of a 2 man tent for a week's summer tour in the UK. The Tiger Paws has stood up to some horrendous conditions, am I being optimistic to expect to repeat this bargain in seeking a basic 2 man tent? Is this Lichfield OK? All suggestions welcome, I want to spend as little as possible but I want to remain dry

Re: Cheap 2 man tent ?
Not sure about a £20 tent (!) but Vango tents seem like good bargains to me. I have a TBS 200 which cost me about £90. I used it twice in very bad weather and was impressed, the internal tension band system worked really well.
I now use a tent costing more than 3x that. Yes, it is better (lighter), but not 3x better. The Vango has sat in the wardrobe for the last 2 years though...................
I can't think of anything worse than a camping trip with a duff tent, so don't go too cheap and cheerful.

Agree with last poster, the Litchfield seems more of a lottery as to quality. Brands like Vango and sunncamp will be far more trusted brands if your not looking at before you buy. Id you go to the big camping exhiniton (it's well worth a google to see if theres one near you) you will see tons of theses and not too many Litchfields.

will only cost £30 odd quid with delivery, comes with are repair kit if you drop a handlebar through it. Look at weights too as this varies a lot.
Happy camping.
PS know anyone at Gladstonbury, there's usually a ton of tents left behind

Try this - a semi geodesic for £75. It will be stable and waterproof. Its a bit heavy, but you could get it down to 2.4kb with lighter pegs and if you ditch the bags.

We've got a Decathlon T3 ultralight pro, http://www.decathlon.co.uk/EN/t3-ultral ... o-3243187/
3 man (so loads of space for two) 3 kg. £99
Or they do a T2 ultralight pro, http://www.decathlon.co.uk/EN/t2-ultral ... o-3244110/
Two man, 2kg £79,
Both are good tents. We went for the T3 because although the T2 had plenty of space for sleeping two, you couldn't chill out the same or be as disorganized as we like to be. We've used out T3 in torrential rain in France in July and Frost and Snow in Hampshire in January.
Not £20 I know but split between tow it's 40 - 50 each depending on which on you go for.
I'm ironically looking at the Argos tent myself for a cheap one man tent. It's now 24.99 for reference (on special offer), 49.99 full price.
Decathlon were also doing a deal on 2xsleeping bags + 2xmat + T2 tent last time I was in.

Bought a bottom of the range Vango Delta 200 several years ago for about £50 and took it all over the UK motorcycle camping. It has proven very robust and particularly good in bad weather due to its strong build, low, squat design and plentiful guy ropes. I also have a 3 man Millets Eurohike which is spacious and has a better awning bit but not quite as strong or warm, had to tie it to the bike in Scotland a couple of years ago (though the wind was strong straight off the sea at Gairloch), also the pegs are quite poor quality. This Vango Dart 200 TS for £59 looks quite similar to my Delta 200 to me:
