20 miles, hilly on bike. 3 base layers, shorts, tights, 2 heavy pairs of socks, windproof trousers outside sailing boots, hillwalking coat, warm hat over ears, helmet, fleece gloves with overmittens. Enjoyed spin and not cold but exhausted from putting all that stuff on! Happy New Year!

I bet you was not cold. I did 25 miles today, clothing was a T shirt, a coton cycling jacket, lycra leggings, gloves, thin socks and overshoes. I wasnice and warm and had the zip almost all the way down on the top after a couple of miles.
The guy I cycle with had shorts on and a thin top with high vis altura jacket as always, its a bit cold for shorts surely  He insists not.

Was a great route today, quiet lanes with some good climbs and fast decents, little traffic untill the last 3 miles where we had a rude awakening as we had to join the A5 with the lorries :(

Just 50 miles for the last day of this year. Not been out since the 17th Dec' (2 weeks) due to snow/ice.
+2C going out (10.30) and about 4C (14.30) when I got back.
Kept to the main roads as the lanes have still got snow and ice on them.
1 base layer, 2 mid layers, 1 top layer and a windproof. Moisture (persperation  ) on the inside of windproof but at least I was warm.
+ Aldi skull cap + Aldi winter tights + Aldi shoes + Aldi over shoes. ( or was it Lidl. )
A young lad out with us (14 of us) had a puncture so he fitted his spare. 3 miles down the road - tire flat again. It was a new tube but the valve parted from the tube at it's base. I gave him one of my spares, so for those of you who don't carry 2 spare tubes.

HAPPY AND A SAFE NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL

Ah well at least I haven't put weight on over the holidays. I have eaten more than normal, or more junk anyway, but I have exercised far more to compensate. This morning after my shower I got on the scales nude as you do, 13stone 5 pounds and 18% fat. I would like to be 12st5 and 15% fat tho!

I've got to say our reason for putting on weight hasn't been due to a eating a lot more but more to total laziness :(

Went out today, the first time for nearly three weeks, really sunny and bitterly cold, but felt toasty and great. Wore an Aldis winter Jacket, with a midlayer and base layer beneath, DBH tights and Aldi socks and shoes. Great gear and really well priced. Happy new year to all and safe riding.

Oh, wishing I was out on the bike today. But heavy snow fell again last night, then my Mum rang to say we are going to Sister's for dinner, includes me. Still not to worry had a good nosh up and 2 bottles of lager.

But the bad news is more heavy snow is forecasted up my way, however I go to work on the bike and the mountain bike it's gonna be. At least, my legs are getting the exercise :)

I too like the thought of going out on the first and last days of the year, so went off to Looe yesterday.
Great fun and virtually no ice. Plenty of water on the road in the valley - except it was water running over ice. Not too badly bruised, but a possible broken finger that's hurting a bit. Never mind, it was worth it for the rest of the ride. Fantastic clear up operatiion in the town after the thousands of revellers over New Year's Eve. Not a trace of glass and all rubbish stowed in bags by 10.00am. Loads of very hungover people though, trudging to their cars/buses/train to get home.
