well ive got a bike now, a hybrid, for biking into work and im just thinking about getting to work and then having to sit there all sweaty without having a shower before i bike home again. i was wondering if there are any products out there (like the cleanex face wipe thingys) to basically have a quick wipe (cant think of a better word :D) so i dont feel as dirty and sweaty.

wierd question i know but i feel an important one :)

Personally I am lucky in that we have a shower, but.............

There is one guy who takes up to 45 minutes in the mornings leaving a queue of irate cyclists, and often insufficient time for a shower!

In these cases I find a sink, an ordinary face flannel, and a little shower gel is more than adequate and saves carting boxes of wipes around.

thats one option i suppose. i was thinking about this which i found through google, anyone ever used it?
apparently it stops you from sweating under your arms and then passes it out in other places where it can evapourate easier and therefore stop you smelling

As Cunobelin, shower or wash at the sink.

How sweaty are you when you get to work?
Have a change of clothes and wash under the arm pits. (use an under arm if you want as well?)
You can shower when you get home.

I used to cycle to work 6 miles then for the next 5 or 6 hours cycled around on a post office bike then I cycled home again. Showers were never heard of in those days.If you work in an office and don't want to be sweaty then cycle more slowly so do not sweat. Why is everyone so hung up on showers - just adapt.

Hoikey. If you go to an outdoor shop, the sort of place that sells walking gear, you can buy very compact travel towels. They're really absorbent, are pocket sized when folded, but are big enough to easily wipe away any sweat.
Here's a link to the sort of thing I mean http://bit.ly/7KnzSF

You could wipe your pits and bits with fragrance free* baby wet wipes: supermarket brand ones are fine, followed by some nice smelling body spray or such like if you like. Personally I just use paper towels and soap and water at work, and even then only feel the need in the warmer months; I have only used the baby wipes when camping in remote locations with no showers.
*Fragrance free so you don't have that new born baby Johnson & Johnson aroma....

Use the baby wipes (as niggle says) and the compact towel (as colin63 says) although you can pick up very cheap versions identified as micro fibre in places like Poundland. I would also augment the setup by using an alum stone deodorant, which I have found to be far more effective (and cheaper in the long run) than normal deodorant. It's fragrance free as well.

We have a shower at work, it's actually a large shed at the back of the building, but to use it I'd have to cart all my gear down there shower change and cart all my gear back to my office. Now, I'm the building manager and have access to the parts others don't, so I have my space in the plant room. I shower in the morning when I get up, ride to work. and nip up to the plant room. there isn't a sink or such like but I have a clean bucket that I fill with hot water and have a good wash, using flannel and shower gel, the same as I use at home. get changed, spray deodorant. back downstairs fresh as you like. I also keep a spare set of clothes up there. useful on more than one occasion. Like when your assisting an engineer and things go wrong and you get wet
