What do the CTC professional staff think?

I appreciate that this is a question the people concerned will probably feel unable to answer publicly. But I'd really like to know the views of the people on the CTC staff who I think of as being in tune with what I want for CTC. CJ, for example, is something of a guru to many of us, not just on technical matters but on public policy as it relates to cycling issues, and the (mild) criticisms he has ventured on these forums of CTC's directions over the last ten years have chimed with me. His views as an insider would influence me. But, as I say, I appreciate he and the other staff probably feel they can't say and I don't want to put them in an awkward position.

I think it extremely unlikely that CTC staff will give an opinion on this. (At least not publicly) It was refreshing that the issue was not mentioned by any of the staff who have a column in 'Cycle'.

I am sorry to say that we now have substantive and irrefutable evidence that staff, in their official capacities and in CTC time, are lobbying members trying to get them to vote for the proposals. In doing so, they are providing members with misleading and inaccurate information.

The equivalent of the 'pre-election period' requirements that apply to civil and public servants at election times should apply in this case. Whilst staff may be members of CTC, any conversation they have should be in a private capacity - they should not be sending begging messages to members in their official capacities, suggesting that if the charity proposals are not carried that their jobs will be at risk or threatening to resign.
