where to get mudguards for 451mm

Post by niggle »

Hi, anyone know where I can get mudguards for my Pacific Reach with the larger 20" size wheels, i.e. 451mm rims with 28-451 (20x1 1/8") tyres? The bike has the manufacturer's optional extra mudguards but they are quite short and don't really give a lot of protection.

Fisher Outdoors own brand KF do a 20" guard but I haven't got a 451 tyre to hand to check the fit. Can you not find 20" guards per se, or are they geared towards 406?

Yes that is basically the issue, 451 is a rather larger curve than 406, though I must admit I have not actually tried fitting 406 ones up. I am ideally looking for something fairly narrow to suit the 28mm tyres and fit in the front forks.

Thanks, I suppose could pop down to Trice at the weekend seeing as they are just down the road from me in Falmouth, some 'bents do or did use 451 wheels.

Fishers do a dealer search by postcode. The 20" guard is Fishers Pt No MG310. Someone nearby might have one to look at. Late thought Airnimal Chameleon are 451? They might have something. Usually available elsewhere much cheaper. Oh they have all the folding stelvios that disappeared from the market.
