Sending bike to Singapore

Advice required please.

I'm sending my son's bike to Singapore. It's a lightweight road bike. (Apparently you can buy bikes over there but they are either £99.99 rubbish or £3000.00 superbikes and nothing in between).

Have looked at DHL and a couple of other sites, but does anyone know if one shipper is any better than the others?

thanks!

I used to live in Singapore, and there were enough mid-range ones then (2002). Although there were plenty of superbikes too!
Try the smaller shops away from the expat magnets like Holland Village.

I've used a company (or perhaps booking agent) called Parcel2Go to send items arounf Europe. The service was very good and it was in fact DHL who collected the parcel from here but Parcel2Go prices were cheaper than I could get from DHL. There are some restrictions on the dimensions of 'parcels' as opposed to whtever they choose to call really big items. I think it's more about what a van driver can safely lift so a bike should be no problem

Edit - just checked the website and they are quoting prices for Asia

ps - why don't you ride it there?

I could quite happily jump on the plane myself right now but it's not going to happen. Parcelforce seem to be the best shippers and they'll collect from either home or work.
