That's pretty ambitious, I guess sightseeing along the way is ruled out then? Still it will put such records out of the reach of a touring cyclist for good. Good luck.

You're clearly mental.

All the best with it.

You can still set the unsupported record. :) , I'll donate the panniers to get you started.

Incredible stuff Alan. Don't beat yourself up too much if you end up going over a hundred days!
Hope your support team is well stocked with Assos cream and savlon for those tropical environs.
I'd like to donate a large pot (unnopened) if you haven't got this crucial area covered.

I certainly will and will follow your journey with interest. I was half kidding with my offer, but young Mr Beaumont
certainly had some issues with saddle sores. All the best.

...trying to work out the maths ...Mark Beaumont did his 18,000 miles in 195 days = 92.3 miles a day

...you're doing it in 99 days = 181.8 miles a day....!

...rather you than me ....good luck!

Blimey. Even cycling 12-hours per day you'd have to maintain an average speed of 15+mph if my bead-frame is right. Pretty exhausting stuff, even for ONE day. I wonder what average speed riders on say the Tour de France can maintain?

Good luck Alan. I'll join your facebook page and try to give you as much encouragement as I can. I hope that you see the blur of interesting places and interesting people as you travel :D I can't even begin to put myself in your place to imagine what this challenge will be like. I like to stop for a cafe break every 20 miles or so, and I've only ridden over 150 miles in a day on one occasion in my life.

For 99 days I will cheer you on, and if I can get to the south of England as you pass through I'll get on my bike to say hello
