Pletscher ESGE KS12 Twin Leg Propstand - Would you buy one?

I would like to get one for my Dawes Horizon (520 Steel frame) but I worry about the SJS cycles website warning:

"Note: Voids Thorn frame warranty, may crush thin walled chainstays if the bike is heavily loaded or leaned on"

What do you guys think? Is this stand going to be a bad idea?

My shopping bike is a Cannondale with an alloy frame, by coincidence from SJSC. I've had it 13 years now. It came with a single leg Pletcher which I replaced with a double after a fairly short time. It's worked quite well - I have occasional trouble with the bike tipping over when fully loaded. No obvious sign of damage to the frame.

Sounds encouraging. I don't think that my bike is likely to be thin-walled and anyhow I don't plan to load it too much

I've got one on my Bitsa*, it works really well. I've never cut the legs to size, so the front-end of the bike is quite high off the ground when its on the stand. *It's based on a cheap 1970's Raleigh 'racing' frame, so hardly likely to be thin walled!
