Preventing 'Family Members' from voting?

I am not the only member of our section who has family members in the family.
We are not the only family who have only received one proxy form with "Cycle".
Not enough forms for us all to vote.
Any comments anyone?

The Save the CTC website shows you how to download forms
and it was in the magazine on page 7 in a green box,
or you can just photocopy the sheet.
One membership number, one vote.

Thanks meic - that will teach me to open my eyes and put my brain in gear before I open my big mouth.
I'm not sure that everyone has read what you've pointed out though - yet.
The main thing is that we really should all vote. We have that democratic right and even if the vote goes against what we ourselves would wish, the more members who vote, the fairer the result.

I am in the Henry Doubleday association (organic gardening) but dont pay any attention to the groups politics.
While I was screwing up the collection of junk leaflets that came with the magazine, to start the fire, I noticed that one was a voting form. I am pretty sure that is what will happen with most of the CTC proxy voting forms too.

Speaking more generally, nobody seems to know much about the dynamics of postal voting in large organisations. The only time I normally get a chance to do this is with building societies etc. In my capacity as an interest rate tart rather than a carpetbagger I'm in several. One gimmick some have now started, to increase participation (and with it their own small credibility) is to donate to charity a small sum for each vote cast - "We will pay 20p" (since I don't think the directors pay this personally I think they mean "You will pay 20p.")
The proxy forms seem to be invariably highlighted with the way they want you to vote - to re-elect them etc - and there's a freepost envelope. I'm unaware of an example where this has not led to the "right" result. I wonder if the CTC Council will regret depending on members' writing the freepost address on an envelope, rather than their providing one.

This is a very good point. As you only get one membership card, for the main household member, how do you know the other numbers?
I suppose if you had requested a card for each member you will have them. But how many do that? Or is there another way to find out the numbers?

You can phone the membership line - 0844 736 8451 (Direct line 0208 891 8941) - and ask them, or e-mail them:
membership@ctc.org.ukHope this helps.

Nope - but I will be by the end of this evening...
Somebody did phone the membership line today (apparently it's been quite busy

), and the bod there confirmed there doesn't appear to be a lower age limit for voting.
