But philg surely your son would not get a NCB if he is on your policy. You would get it as the policyholder but any other driver would not.Thankfully my sprogs are now beyond this stage and are on their own merits.

A word of warning here. Insuring anyone on another persons policy is a very grey area. If for example you had a 17yo and they had a car but insured it in your name and added them self as a named driver thats ileagle. The insurance company will take your money, and send a policy, but try to claim. It happened to my friend a few years ago, his £7k Corsa was stolen and he put a claim in, 3 days later they sent a letter saying his policy was void as he was not the main driver but a named driver on his moms policy, but as the car was in his name he had commiyted fraud. He reported it to the CAB in the end and they said tough its in black and white if you readthe small print. He didnt even get a refund on the policy.

Oh, and to make matters worse for reporting them to the CAB they reported him to the police who pressed charges for driving with no insurance and fined him £700 and took his licence for 12 months.
