tourer/commuter compromise: rear cable disc/hub, front rimbr

Post by SA_SA_SA »

I wondered if any manufacturers off the compromise of a rear cable disc/ hub brake and front rim brake (eg with rigida rim with clear wear indicator)

A rear disc would be reasonably protected by the rear rack, and either rear hub or disc would keep rear rim clean, so less maintenance.

I've a bike like this planned. It will have a drum brake rear, and a caliper front.

People might see me, think I'm riding a fixed gear, and think "gawd, the hipster's days are numbered".
