Bikeroutetoaster problem

Post by mw3230 »

I'm unable to save courses in BRT.

When I try to log in I enter my user name and password and send. The user name stays visible and the password box clears. No other comment appears, nothing to confirm that I am logged in. (if I enter the incorrect password I then get a message telling me to try again)

I then create a course and click the 'summary' tab - there is no save box/button

I have saved courses in the past but now cannot see them in the 'course' tab

I've sent a query to BRT but had no reply. Can anyone tell me if their experience is the same or suggest a solution

I had thought that this was perhaps connected to my changing to Firefox but others have previously confirmed that they are using Firefox and have no problems with BRT

I'm most frustrated!!

The latest version of Firefox does not mimic IE. Try using IE for this exercise.

Thanks - are you suggesting that I return to IE or is there a way to use both at the same time?

I always use Firefox but, on those few occasions that it will not fill in forms, I load IE and use that. I can see no reason why both cannot be loaded at the same time as they are used separately on the computer.

I run both IE and Opera.
Some websites use different protocols and are not fully functional with various browsers.
Sometimes you have to revert to IE to overcome this.

BRT works absolutely fine in Firefox for me. I've never used it in IE.

You could use the IE tab plugin for Firefox (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/92382). However the only website I've ever had to put into this tab is our Sharepoint awfulness at work. I've not seen a general use website that just didn't work at all in FF for a long time.

Working fine for me with FF3.6 on XP and FF3.0 on Ubuntu. What version and OS do you have? Any plugins that might be interfering?

If you open the Javascript error console (Ctrl+Shift+J), clear it, and log in again, do you get any errors come up in it?

Remains clear but still couldn't log in

Edit - just opened BRT in IE - worked fine and I was able to log in and see my saved course. In future I'll do it that way. Obviously there is an issue with Firefox. Thanks for your comments and advice everyone

I've had the same problem, I loaded Firefox and tried that, still the same problem. I then deleted ALL bikeroute Toaster Cookies (There's a toll in Firefox to list and delete cookies) and Whoopee I can log in again.

All websites use standard protocols, HTTP and HTTPS.

It is the layout, CSS and javascript which is browser specific.

Anyone who can't code a website to work with IE and Firefox shouldn't even be writing them. There are plenty of cross browser script engines now like jQuery which make dynamic websites quite easy.
